PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE SOOTHIE!
Serves 4-4 ounce servings
My one guilty pleasure all my life is eating Peanut Butter Cups. My problem was, (still is) I wouldn’t eat just one package. No, I ate at least 3 with each sitting, if you do the math it’s 6 cups. I loved it while I was doing it, but I paid the price afterward. There was the immediate high from the sugar, the usual dull throbbing headache that accompanies it, an aching tummy, followed by the “crash”, then I turn into Ms. Crabby Patty.
I’m happy to say that I don’t do that anymore. I just don’t like the way I feel afterward. So, I have a choice, do I want unnecessary fat and added sugar in my body and the way it makes me feel, or do it in a way where I would get the same satisfaction with the added bonus of ingredients that are good for me?
I found a way to combine my two favorite ingredients, chocolate, and peanut butter together in one smoothie.
Let’s stay realistic here, banana’s, natural peanut butter, contain natural sugar, so I keep the portions to 4-ounce servings.
I will benefit from the natural ingredients and get the satisfaction of a truly delicious drink that makes me happy!
2 small bananas
¼ cup organic crunchy peanut butter
2-cups hazelnut milk, coconut or cashew milk
3 Tablespoons unsweetened cacao powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
½ teaspoons Stevia
16 ice cubes
1 cup, “Soy Delicious”, dairy free whip cream
6 miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, cut in half
1 Tablespoons organic mini chocolate chips
6 fresh mint sprigs
1 Tablespoon mini-chocolate chips
Place 1 banana into a blender and add next 7 ingredients, blend for 1 minute until smooth and creamy. Pour into chilled glasses.
Cut the second banana in ¼” slices. Garnish each serving with a dollop of dairy-free whip cream, 2 slices of banana, 1 mini peanut butter cup sliced in half, 1/2 teaspoon mini chocolate chip. Add fresh mint on top.
