I decided long ago to make a life change when it came to refined sugar in my diet and have been creating recipes that are not only good for you but can curb your sweet tooth by replacing processed ingredients with heart-healthy choices to help fuel your body and energy throughout the day.
One of my guiltiest pleasures is a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and not wanting to give them up completely I whipped up this low-calorie Peanut Butter and Chocolate Shake so I can continue to get my fix.
FOR PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE SHAKE
Make 4 cups
¼ cup organic crunchy peanut butter
1-cup chocolate coconut almond milk, or chocolate almond milk
6 to 8 ice cubes
1 banana, cut 4 thin slices and set aside for garnish
4 miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups sliced in half
8 fresh mint leaves
2 teaspoons cocoa nibs* or mini chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS FOR PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE SHAKE
Place the first 5 ingredients into a blender and blend for 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.
Garnish each serving with a banana slice, fresh mint, 1 teaspoon cocoa nibs, and the mini peanut butter cup
